Outside of having a way larger scale of shades I feel like Shape Tape Radiant Concealer is the same concept as the Glow Wands that released a short while ago! It has the same glow and soft focus you’d get from products like ELF Halo Glow Liquid Filter and dare I say that’s what I felt like I was putting under my eyes! Not a good look at all for this girl! I will say, I’ve never tried it, but Tarte already has a Shape Tape Glow Wand which makes me wonder why we even needed a Shape Tape Radiant Concealer. This doesn’t really hide those issues and if anything at all it puts a bad spotlight on them and makes them look more prominent. Sure, you’ll get that luminious glowiness under your eyes but if you have dark circles, finer lines, puffiness, or other imperfections you’re trying to hide like sunken eyes you’re out of luck.

It’s more of a brightening type tool versus an actual concealer. It does blend very easily but it’s not as smooth as the original and just falls right into finer lines. This feels a lot lighter, less creamy, and seems to have more of a grip. It’s a lot less creamy than the original formula and the ultra creamy one. On the upside, the formula is incredibly lightweight, creamy, and almost fluid-like in consistency. They actually look the same in pictures when it comes to shade in the barrel and the sponge applicator (the top one is the Radiant formula) for the Radiant finish version actually looks lighter than the original. I did swatch my shades together and also, I took photos of the wands together. Not to mention the formula just falls RIGHT into my fine lines and sits there happily making me look old. Never have I felt so old in my life LOL! This just accentuates every issue I have under my eyes and puts a spotlight on it.

The darker shade tone plus the diamond powder and mica made my puffy, drier, finely eyes look ghastly.

I should say, peach is great for me as I have light-medium skin with more of a peach undertone and concealers or foundations with a peach undertone work great for me. It had a more muddy peach undertone which didn’t work for me.

The Radiant formula’s shade just didn’t have that brightening effect for me sadly. Not that I have ANY IDEA what I am doing on the contour department but I feel a smidge lighter works out for me and gives my eyes a more lifted look! Light Medium Beige is a good shade for me even though it’s bit yellow at the undertone sometimes. I tend to go a smidge lighter with my concealer for a contoured effect. It was a big no for me from there on out. Thankfully, I didn’t experience orange issues but I did feel the shade I got was way darker in this finish and formula compared to original Shape Tape shade. I saw a few reviews that said the shades were too dark or too orange-y. The shade range appears to be exactly the same as the original line but in my experience they run a lot darker. Tarte Shape Tape Radiant Concealer is available in 31 shades and I purchased the shade Light-Medium Beige which is the same shade as my Shape Tape Concealer. This is a matter of opinion I guess but this isn’t the formula for me. Sadly, I’m here to say I hate Tarte Shape Tape Radiant Concealer. Oddly, I have drier eyes so you’d think I’d prefer the more hydrating formula! But nope, I love the original formula the best. I did enjoy the more hydrating, creamy version that launched last Spring but I prefer the original OG matte version. I truly believe there’s nothing as good on the market. I’ve been using it since it launched back in 2016 and sure, I deviate from time to time and try new concealers and even love some of them but I always make my way back to Shape Tape. I’m a die-harder when it comes to Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. This new finish joins the original matte Shape Tape and the more recently launched Shape Tape Ultra Creamy Concealer. Tarte Shape Tape Radiant Concealer is a new medium coverage concealer with a radiant finish that launched in 31 shades for $31.
